Are tattoos safe?

Yes, as long as you choose a reputable artist that has a business license and tattoo certification. Ask questions if you are unsure how long the artist has been practicing. Be sure to check my pre-care, post-care instructions and contraindications. Be honest about any medications or vitamins as this can cause excess bleeding

Does it hurt?

Even though this is a cosmetic procedure, this is a tattoo. Pain tolerance is different for everyone and as stated above, the best thing you can do to prepare for your appointment is to read the pre-care instructions and contraindications. I will numb you with 2 different types of numbing agents during your procedure to try and make it as painless as possible.

Most people find the procedure to be no more painful than tweezing or threading.

Please note: during your menstrual cycle you could have increased discomfort.

Do I need to take time off of work?

No, you can go about your day as needed after the procedure. The brows will appear darker and go through the normal healing process over the next 21 days with the first 10 days having the most significant changes. Please refer to what to expect with further questions on the healing stages. Lips can be swollen but will go down over the next few hours.

Can I go tanning before or after my appointment?

Wait at least 10 -14 days to go tanning or have direct sun exposure after your cosmetic tattoo procedure. This also includes spray tanning. If you do need to go into the sun please cover your tattoo with a hat or avoid the sun as much as possible. Once the skin is healed  you can apply sun tan lotion for the first month and thereafter! Always protect your tattoos from those UV Rays!

Is it ok to get a tattoo when I'm sick?

I would prefer that you do not come to an appointment sick. The Cancellation policy is to give 24 hours notice of appointment cancellation. I am willing to work with you as long as you are being considerate of not bringing an illness into the studio. Healing from your tattoo will be difficult while your body is trying to fight any other type of sickness and is not recommended.

Should I wax, thread, tint, laminate my eyebrows before the procedure?

Please do not do any of the above procedures for up to 1 week prior to your appointment.

Should I bring in inspo photos?

Of course! I always want to see what your brow and cosmetic tattoo goals are! We will discuss at the appointment if they are appropriate for your skin type, skin elasticity and maturity.

Can I wear makeup after the procedure?

No, the tattoo is considered an open wound. It is vital that you follow your aftercare instructions and avoid putting anything on the area while it is still considered open.

Everyone is different but typically the healing process is 10-14 days. Wait the whole healing process before you apply any makeup.

How long does it take for the brows to heal?

Every person is different and your healing will depend on how well you follow the pre and post care instructions. Please be familiar with these before your appointment.

Brows usually heal within 7-14 days. It is crucial to follow your after care instructions.

What can I expect for the healing process?

Days 1-3

  • Brows will look darker and thicker. Scabs may form.
  • Brows can feel a little tender or sore and have a warm/ reddish hue.

Days 4-5

  • Redness should be reduced.
  • Flaking and crusting of the eyebrows may occur. (Do Not Pick!)
  • Eyebrows may feel dry and itchy.
  • Scabs may fall off and the eyebrows can look patchy.
  • There may be discoloration where the scabs have fallen off, this will even out and we can adjust at touch up if needed.

Days 6-12

  • Scabs will fall off in random pieces
  • 70-100% of scabs fall of during this phase
  • color will lighten and the brow shape will look thinner
  • color can still look uneven

Days 13-21

  • Brow color darkens as the skin fully heals
  • Expect your healed color to be 30-50% lighter than your initial appointment.
When can I get botox?

You will want to wait at least 2 weeks after your procedure. You will want the skin underneath the tattooed area to be fully healed before implanting botox injections around the area.

How long does a cosmetic tattoo last?

It is a semi-permanent tattoo and you will need a touch up anywhere from a year to 18 months. Anything after 18 months you will need to pay full price.
